SOE To Compensate Affected DCUO and Free Realms Users …

The PlayStation Network being down has affected users all over the world but has possibly been felt the most by DC Universe Online and Free Realms players. Both of these MMO’s are online only of course and both have monthly charges to play. Sony Online Entertainment knows the pain of paying for something you can’t play and they plan to make it up to players.

In a statement found on the forums for DC Universe Online & Free Realms, SOE said the following:

We apologize for any inconvenience players may have experienced as a result of the recent service interruption. As a global leader in online gaming, SOE is committed to delivering stable and entertaining games for players of all ages.

To thank players for their patience, we will be hosting special events this weekend across our game portfolio, including a Double Station Cash day on Saturday, April 30th.

We are also working on a “make good” plan for players of the PS3 versions of DC Universe Online and Free Realms. Details will be available soon on the individual game websites and forums.

No word yet on what people can expect from this “make good” plan that SOE has but we are sure they will do their best to take care of people. While it is not their fault for the PSN being down, it is still a classy move to try and help out where they can.

Sonys gonna feel like they have a lot of making up to do, personally I dont they did anything wrong except take way too long to get into out there but if theyre gonna give cool stuff to dcuo users then Ill take it
I am on Free Realms but I will not pay to play after level 5 like the application is setup now… So Sony does not owe me a thing.

And I don’t play games like DCUO or any other “Free to Play” MMO that requires a CC to register.
- how else are you suppose to register for a mmo with a monthly fee?
  - There’s this thing called the wallet, it’s really cool, you can buy 20$ cards in real life stores and input a code that transfers that 20$ onto your PSN wallet. You can then use that money to purchase things from the Playstation store, like various subscriptions.
  - i’m pretty sure you need a credit card to register to play the game.
What about us PS Plus users? Anybody heard anything for us? I am not mad…just curious.
- Given how PS+ works as per week content, it is more likely that we’ll just get an extension of the content on the store. I personally don’t see that they really need to do any more than that.
I think we should get an extra month added onto our subscriptions. 2 weeks at minimum. We definitely should get back the time we lost due to the PSN being shut down, maybe a little extra as apology for the extended downtime

- Well remember the latest post did say that they hope/expect to have most of the services up by the end of the week. So hopefully this is a good sign that they really can/will, and not just he PC side servers. Certainly wish them the best in this situation, as the better they get through it, the better we do as well. :/

i wished i could download a PC version & register with my PS3 DCUO info to access the game, why can’t this be possible … come on !!!!

I want to play DCUO on PC or PS3 with same account & only 1 purchase or a special lower price for the other platform!
Glad to hear they’re going to compensate for lost time on DCUO and FreeRealms! That’s really the only thing I thought the honestly needed to compensate for! Glad to see they’re thinking smart!
